Progressovka: A Landmark Solar Project Driving Ukraine’s Clean Energy Future

A Vision for Sustainability

As one of the largest solar projects in Ukraine, the Progressovka Solar Farm represents a significant step toward the country’s clean energy future. Developed in 2019, this 147.7 MWp project was designed to enhance Ukraine’s energy security while aligning with global decarbonization efforts.

Leveraging RISEN RSM144‐6‐385 panels and HUAWEI inverters, the site maximizes energy efficiency, ensuring stable and sustainable electricity generation for thousands of homes in the Odessa region.

Overcoming Challenges with Innovation and Teamwork

Building a large-scale solar farm required overcoming several engineering and logistical hurdles:

  • Large-Scale Infrastructure Deployment: With nearly 150 MWp of installed capacity, ensuring the efficiency and stability of the Fixed Tilt structure was critical to long-term performance.
  • Harsh Weather Conditions: Adapting to extreme temperature variations and ensuring robust mounting solutions (Vergo system) helped mitigate risks related to weather fluctuations.
  • Optimizing Grid Connection: The integration of advanced inverter technology (Huawei SUN2000-185KTL) allowed for seamless grid connectivity, optimizing voltage regulation and energy dispatch.

Through strategic planning and cutting-edge technology, the Progressovka Solar Project successfully overcame these challenges, setting a new standard for solar deployment in Eastern Europe.

The Human Impact

The project brought substantial socio-economic benefits to the region, employing over 250 workers during its development and construction. It continues to provide long-term opportunities in operations and maintenance, ensuring ongoing economic contributions to the local community.

By supplying clean, renewable energy, Progressovka significantly reduces Ukraine’s carbon footprint while fostering energy independence and security.

Powering the Future

With an installed capacity of 147.7 MWp, Progressovka Solar Project is a game-changer for Ukraine’s energy sector. By delivering clean, reliable electricity and reducing emissions, this project plays a vital role in driving Ukraine’s transition toward sustainable energy.
