At SUNEL Group, we are dedicated to advancing large-scale renewable energy projects that accelerate the transition to clean energy. The Delfini project in Prosotsani, Drama, stands as a landmark achievement, representing a significant step forward in Greece’s renewable energy landscape.
Developed in partnership with our partner Ameresco for our client Cero Generation, the 100 MWp Delfini solar power plant is the first solar PV project in Greece to utilize a private Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), operating independently of government subsidies. With an annual generation capacity of 157 GWh, this project powers the equivalent of 58,140 households and contributes to reducing 65,300 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year.
Constructing Delfini presented unique challenges due to its rugged, mountainous terrain. However, the dedicated teams at Ameresco Sunel Energy SA—from engineers to construction crews—overcame these obstacles with determination, innovation, and teamwork, ensuring the project’s successful completion.
This project exemplifies the impact of utility-scale solar in supporting Greece’s and the EU’s renewable energy targets. As part of Ameresco Sunel Energy SA’s broader mission, we continue to drive forward with multiple large-scale solar and battery energy storage projects across Europe, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable progress and energy independence.
We are proud to have delivered Delfini and look forward to continuing our mission of expanding the reach of clean, renewable energy across global markets.
