  • COMMERCIAL MANAGER (Solar PV EPC) - MARCH 2024

    About the job

    SUNEL Group is seeking an experienced “Commercial Manager” to join our Commercial Department.

    The Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing commercial aspects of our projects, including tender management, preparation and submission, contract preparation after award, contract management as well as other tasks depending on department needs.

    The Commercial Manager will report to the Head of Commercial Department.

    The position is full-time, based in SUNEL Group main offices at Neo Irakleio, Athens, Greece.

    Main tasks and requirements of the position

    MAIN TASKS

    • Tender management, preparation and submission:
      • (a) Tender management: Reading and analyzing the tender RFQ, distributing work (deliverables, cost & quantity items, comments and deviations) among different depts, following up in order to collect on time all tender deliverables.
      • (b) Preparation and submission of proposals: Drafting and commenting on commercial, legal and other non-technical deliverables, putting together the proposal following feedback from other departments, submission of proposal and proposal monitoring.
      • (c) Costing: Preparation of costing spreadsheets for proposals following feedback from involved depts.
    • Contract preparation after award: Review and comment on contracts presented by the client, assist during contract negotiations and organize different depts for closure of contract and annexes.
    • Contract management: Follow-up the contract after execution, ensuring that all parties fulfill their obligations, that the contract is successfully executed, managing any changes or amendments to the contract, and resolving any disputes that may arise.
    • Other non-core tasks depending on ad-hoc or ongoing needs of the department including market analysis, marketing, drafting of communication or other material, reporting, participation in exhibitions and events.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum (applicants may be disqualified if do not possess the following):

    • University Degree, preferably in Engineering.
    • Global understanding of all aspects (technical, commercial, financial, legal, etc) involved in the development, construction and operation of large scale PV Systems.
    • Experienced in using Microsoft Excel.
    • Experience in similar position of at least two (2) years.
    • Native Greek speaker with fluency in English (both written and spoken).

     

    Preferred:

    • Experience at different positions in Renewable Energy industry.
    • University degree (bachelors and/or masters) in Renewable Energy.

    • Analytical skills: break down information into its components, properly categorize such, identify patterns, and draw conclusions.
    • Synthetic skills: combine and synthesize information from different sources.
    • Strong attention to detail: ensure accuracy and precision in all aspects of work.
    • Collaboration and teamwork skills: work effectively with cross-functional teams, including technical, financial, and legal teams.
    • Effective equilibrium between making informed decisions independently and seeking input from supervisors.

  • PV SITE MANAGER – SPAIN - 17/02/2022

    SUNEL GROUP is a world class developer and EPC contractor for photovoltaic plants, having completed more than 500 PV projects in Europe, Middle East and Africa. We are seeking an experienced and proactive PV Site Manager (PV projects utility-scale). The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and the Engineering Department based in Valencia (Spain).

    Responsibilities

    • Managing the construction of the PV project from inception to completion, ensuring that it is carried out according to law, regulations, PV standards and SUNEL´s QHSE management systems and standards.
    • Be responsible for the management of resources to meet the project schedule without exceeding the project timeline, scope and budget.
    • Communicating, coordinating and corresponding with the Subcontractors for all the matters related to the project, acting as primary point of contact on behalf of SUNEL.
    • Working closely with the Engineering Department to review all project documents and information provided by the Client, and throughout the design process.
    • Develop a detailed construction schedule to track progress.
    • Manage and supervise mechanical and electrical supervisors and subcontractors on site.
    • Ensure appropriate availability and allocation of resources.
    • Preparation of daily and weekly progress reports both internally and for the Clients.
    • Manage project implementation activities, ensuring SUNEL QHSE standards.
    • Perform risk assessments on the project and proactively solve any matters encountered on site in conjunction with the Project Manager and H&S Responsible.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation throughout the construction process.
    • Identify and make proposals for improvements to the execution and assembly procedures.
    • Ensure proper administration and security of temporary facilities.
    • Approve the Additional Works requested from the different Subcontractors.
    • Control and follow-up of the finishes according to the specifications of the project including the Punch List works in order to achieve a satisfactory PAC.
    • Handover of the project to the internal OM team.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering fields.
    • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, solar permits, and other regulatory codes of the photovoltaic system.
    • Recognised project management training is considered an advantage (PMP, PRINCE II).
    • Proven track record in the construction of solar parks.
    • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both spoken and written.
    • Excellent IT skills particularly MS Excel/Word/Project and PowerPoint.
    • Fluency in English.
    • Willingness to live nationwide.

     

    Location

    • Badajoz, Sevilla and Ciudad Real (Spain).

    Salary

    • Remuneration package dependent on experience.
    • Full time / contract both considered.

    Responsibilities:

    • Critical analysis of project documentation to determine project design requirements – including planning documents, site visit reports, topographical and geotechnical surveys, Grid Impact Studies, Client specifications, local codes, and standards.
    • Design of large-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects from 5-100MW to include:
        • Preliminary layout of PV modules across site plots/fields
        • Preliminary electrical configuration and single line diagram (SLD)
        • Preliminary energy study (using PVSYST)

Panels etc.) according to the applicable standards, RfG and Principle requirements, requests for quotation to suppliers, interact with main equipment suppliers to answer and close technical queries in order to select equipment and proceed to orders, supervision of design consultants in cases of outsourced project design, bill of materials, technical due diligence with the client’s technical advisors, construction support to the project manager, site engineers and subcontractors.


    Responsibilities:

    • Critical analysis of project documentation to determine project design requirements – including planning documents, Grid Impact Studies, Client specifications, local codes and standards.
    • Electrical design of large and utility scale solar PV projects from 5-100MW to include:
        • Single line diagrams (SLDs) for DC, Low and Medium AC Voltage Installations
        • Electrical calculations such as Power Losses, Voltage Drops, Short Circuit, El. Panels
        • Equipment selection and sizing (cabling, Inverters, LV/MV Transformers, el. Panels etc.) according to the applicable standards, RfG and Principle requirements
        • Grid Impact Studies requirements implementation in the project design
        • Requests for quotation (RFQs) to Suppliers in conjunction with the Construction & Procurement Team
        • Interact with main equipment suppliers to answer and close technical queries to select equipment and proceed to orders
        • Supervision of design consultants in cases of outsourced project design
