SUNEL and OMNIPOL Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Explore Clean Energy Collaboration

Ameresco SUNEL Energy SA Awarded 83 MW Solar Project in Kozani, Greece to Drive Energy Decarbonization

Athens, Greece & Prague, Czech Republic – April 21, 2026 – SUNEL Group, a leading international provider of integrated and innovative solutions for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, and OMNIPOL Group, a Czech industrial and technology group with over 90 years of experience in high-tech aerospace and defence sectors, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore opportunities for collaboration in the field of clean energy and energy optimization.

The agreement establishes a framework for the two companies to jointly assess the potential implementation of integrated energy solutions across selected OMNIPOL industrial and operational sites in Czechia. Following the signing of the MoU, the Parties have initiated a structured evaluation process, including data exchange, site assessments, and preliminary technical and financial analyses performed by SUNEL.

OMNIPOL Group brings together leading manufacturing companies such as Aircraft Industries, ERA, and MESIT, with advanced capabilities in aircraft development, surveillance systems, and defence technologies, while also being a strategic partner of AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE. With nearly 4,000 professionals, including a strong base of research and development expertise, the Group represents a significant industrial platform with complex energy needs and long-term operational focus.

Within this context, the collaboration will focus on evaluating solutions related to on-site energy generation, energy storage, and broader energy efficiency and energy management systems, aiming to enhance operational performance, strengthen security of supply, and optimize long-term energy costs.

The cooperation will be explored under an Energy Services (ESCO) model, whereby SUNEL would be responsible for the financing, design, installation, ownership, operation, and maintenance of the energy infrastructure, while OMNIPOL would benefit from the supply of energy at agreed terms, without upfront capital investment, subject to further technical, financial, and regulatory assessment.

This initiative reflects both companies’ shared commitment to innovation and the ongoing transformation of industrial energy systems across Europe, particularly in sectors where reliability, efficiency, and technological sophistication are critical.

Miltos Zygouras, Chairman of SUNEL Group, stated: “This collaboration represents an important step in expanding our presence in Central Europe and engaging with industrial partners operating in highly demanding and technologically critical environments. OMNIPOL’s profile and capabilities make this a particularly meaningful opportunity to explore how integrated energy solutions can support complex operations with long-term impact.”

Milan Roušar, Group COO of OMNIPOL, commented: “We are pleased to partner with SUNEL to explore innovative approaches to energy management across our operations. This collaboration aligns with our broader focus on efficiency, resilience, and the continuous evolution of our industrial and technological infrastructure.”
